Drop and pick is Gillian’s favorite game now.  Every time she’s bored of playing a particular toy after a moment, she would drop it, then wait for me to pick and give the toy back to her.  After I’ve done that, she would drop the thing again, then look at me, observing if I would pick the item again.  Surely, I would give it back to her.  That is, until I would notice that she’s doing the same thing for a while and seemed to enjoy the activity.  At times, tired of picking up several times, I would decide to stop, and that would begin her frustrating wail.

She’s a lot of work now.  Every time she doesn’t want a certain act or thing anymore she would eventually cry.  You really need to do variety of things to keep her entertained.  She’s now eating and drinking like an adult too.  I could be exaggerating but she can eat whatever I’m eating, at least most of it.  Cooked rice, bread, fries, smashed squash, potato chips, ice cream and all sort of juices.  I know some of them are not yet good for her but she would protest if she can’t take a piece of what we’re eating.  So I’m giving her at least bits of every food we consume.  I guess, in some way this is good, so she will not become picky with her taste.

She’s turning 11 months in 7 days and in another month, she’ll be one year old already.  I hope we can have a party for her when the day comes.  I’m a home bound mom with a home-based job now.  So, I think I need to work double-time for the extra funds.  I hope that the employer I found would be for long term and would continue to be a blessing.  I’m grateful for where the things are going at the present.  I believe I can be at my best on this career shift.  Not only because, I already have the stored experiences and skills, but most of all, my family is my inspiration. Plus the essential things too, I’m always open to challenges and to learning new things.  So, let’s get it on!

Let’s “drop and pick” now Gillian, before work starts!

“To my observation, I think the greatest dream of every man is getting harder to achieve each passing moment.  He may not aware of this dream but his thoughts, emotions and actions clearly convey this.  It evidently speaks:      “I’m looking for true love.”     by enjoyingthefamilylife.wordpress.com

Clark, Clark Kent, Husband, Lana Lang, Lois Lane, Smallville, Superman, Tom Welling

This video has flashed back a lot of memories.

From the moment I’ve set my eyes on Smallville, I haven’t stopped wishing to have my own Superman since then.  I remembered waking up all night just to watch Clark Kent on those episodes endlessly.   I still even got all the set of CD’s I collected years ago for my own token of obsession for the movie.  I also recalled cutting my own picture and pasting it besides Clark onto one of his photos captured from Smallville.  I had all sort of Tom Welling’s pictures pasted all over in my room too.  I also even compiled some records of his autobiography.  Oh yeah, I’m a certified fanatic Smallville buff.  I so wanted to be Lana, and later to become Lois.  I always wondered back then, when my Superman would ever find me.

The season finale has ended a few months ago and I thought too that I would never ever find my real Clark.

However, he came as swiftly as any super human could be.  It’s when I haven’t expected it the most.  Later, I realized that he came at the right time.  It’s when I really needed saving.  I wasn’t doing very well with managing my single life back then. My Superman did find me afterall.  Until now,  I can’t be thankful enough that I have him.  He’s a loving and wonderful person in his own way.  I think, I love him more than Clark now. 🙂 Of course I really do, that’s why I married him. 🙂

I’m grateful that I have my very own superman now and he’s adorable too. 🙂

The greatest achievement of my life.

Gecko, Tokay Gecko, Tuko

I’m hearing it again. It’s from outside.  It’s somewhat a comforting sound.  It’s a peaceful call amidst the city noise. For me, it signifies tranquility.  I’m seating here from my desk finishing some online work and I can hear its sound signifying that it’s time for sleep.  I bet it’s still a baby or perhaps a female one, because its croak sounded sharp and tiny, and not yet loudly full.  It’s called in our local dialect as “tuko”, in Wikipedia it’s called “tokay gecko”.  “Tuko” or “toko” is known as the second largest gecko in the world next to “Kawekaweau”- which was found in France.  This gecko can grow up to 11 to 15 inches big.

Every time I hear its voice, I also can’t stop thinking if the rumor about it being used to cure AIDS or cancer is true.  Due to curiosity and as far as my searching has gone; I’ve found out that there is still no official scientific proof that these stories are accurate.  There are also a lot of humored trading going on that a 500g and plus weight of this gecko costs 500 thousand to millions of pesos.   Amazing! It sure is the fastest way to get rich.  However, trading and transporting of these animals are considered a crime here in our country.  I guess it’s a good thing because “tuko” is considered endangered now and these geckos can only be found in few Asian countries, including our Philippines.

I still want to see a live gecko someday in my life.

One thing too, when Gillian first heard the gecko calling, she was astonished by the sound of it.  I even imitated the sound to her and she went “tkooo, kaaaw”.  Cute little baby.

I hope that “tuko” is here to stay, so Gillian can hear it until she’s old enough to know what that striking creature really is.

Otherwise, I will just going to mimic its sound:  “tukoooo, tukooooo”!  Well, I’m good at it now. 🙂
